DEADPOOL 2016
MARVEL ENTERTAINMENT
Movie Genre: Action/Comedy
Official Synopsis: Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) is a former Special Forces operative who now works as a mercenary. His world comes crashing down when evil scientist Ajax (Ed Skrein) tortures, disfigures and transforms him into Deadpool. The rogue experiment leaves Deadpool with accelerated healing powers and a twisted sense of humor. With help from mutant allies Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Deadpool uses his new skills to hunt down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
Process of Redesign: Deadpool, one of Marvel's most beloved character with many qualities had a movie released a few years ago but did not do justice to his character. With abilities like fourth-wall breaking I chose to pay respect to the comics by creating a comic panel layout featuring a small portion of a chase scene from the movie. This scene was chosen because it shows action and comedy which is the genre of the film giving a small insight on what to expect if you are unfamiliar with the character. Alongside the scene, a detailed render of Deadpool is seen ripping through the comic, revealing chaos behind him while he points directly to people in front of his key art. His ability used effectively breaking out of the comic and breaking out of the key art itself to address the audience by pointing directly at you is such in his character that it works.
